La belle vie!
I've always wished that summer lasted longer, especially when we're in France. We had our first family of four French summer trip and it was wonderful! We took the 9-hour direct Minni --> Paris flight, hopped on the train to southern France and we were in the pool at Le Pegue (an hour from Avignon) within 24 hours! W
e spent the first half of our trip at Le Pegue (my aunt and uncle's house), along with my cousins, spouses, sister and family, and my parents - we were 17 people. While we spent a lot of time around the dinner table, our spare time was spent taking walks, swimming, and of course talking alot. The 4 girl cousins even made it out to lunch one day together. After a good, but short, time together, the Patrick Aubourgs made our way west towards the coast. We spent 2 nights in a little town called Rocamadour, known for being built on a cliff - literally. It's in the Periogord region which is filled with caves, including the Lascaux caves with pre-historic drawings - which was truly and amazing visit. Then back in the car to Aulnay - just east of La Rochelle for a family reunion at Catherine and Patrick's house. It was wonderful to catch up and see our girls have so much fun with their French cousins. They're understanding French (which makes us very happy!) and fit right in with the crew. And then it was time to come home...a bientot la France et merci a toute la famille. Click here for all of our pics:
